The ones who stroll into places they probably shouldn’t and ask for forgiveness, not permission. The kind of grandmas who head back to uni in their sixties and then take off for Egypt to join an archeological dig.
Sally had one of those. A spirited, adventurous woman who inspired her granddaughter to leave Australia on a decade long adventure. Sally lived and worked in London, New York, and Los Angeles, learning from some of the world’s top photographers along the way and finding herself in some remarkable places—from the halls of the Obama White House to watching the sunrise from the roof of the Palais Garnier to being surrounded by majestic wild elephants in Kenya’s Samburu National Park.
Her photography is crisp, considered and infused with empathy. Her eye is so sensitive it can make you have feelings for a traffic light.
It’s why some of the world’s most well-known brands have commissioned her, including Clinique, Abercrombie and Fitch, Anthropologie and Woolworths. Her images have also appeared in Interview, Marie Claire and Vogue magazines.
Sally is now based in Sydney, where she lives with her fur baby, Smoko. In her spare time, she likes to reminisce on some of life’s more surreal moments—like those cookies Kris Jenner offered her, or that time Thom Yorke asked to borrow a phone charger.
